Beautiful in its poignancy, Polona! And artistically, just right.

loved this
it works so well as a naturalistic piece
but
(as others have said)
it is pevaded by a sense of personification and sadness

The words is working well Polona, but no offence I don't hope you have cut the tree just for this purpose - nah just joking.
And the last few poems have been I see that floots use the word pervaded (which exact meaning I only could find at Oxford University Press (oup.com))by sensitive feelings but it gives the right words for the feeling these last poems has given(I think - at least for me)- unaffected hold on.

Poignant ... in its depths pain hidden by the leaves ... perhaps even preserved in the stump.
I can relate to this.

aurora: much appreciated as always. thank you!

matt: ditto above.

kai, thank you!

margie: perfect is not easy to achieve. thank you!

masago: there are moments...

dsnake: only temporary, but as you know, pain is an essential part of life... thank you!

floots: thank you!
for some reason seeing felled trees always make me sad (these were doomed anyway as the bark beetle had done its job too effectively but still...)

ashi: i would never... :)
well, i'm fine, thanks. it's just that... this time of year does bring all kinds of strange thoughts to my mind...

trinitystar: thank you. i suppose anyone who has lost someone close can relate...

pat: kind of... i prefer the nature's way though, especially now that so many people will be showing off on the graveyards for just that one day (november 1, all saints' day, is a holiday in slovenia, a day dedicated to our deceased or that's how it should be)
thank you, pat!

charlie: yep.
