I'll disregard the total effect of this cloud-castle haiga:) for a moment and focus on just one aspect of it. It's an almost perfect illustration of ‘Word evokes image' - an idea discussed on my Alchemy of Happiness blog. Without the haiku text, who would have interpreted this photo in any other way but as another interesting variation on billowing clouds - a typical haiku image? The words 'grinning faces' change it all. Once the shape of the face is perceived, it's almost impossible to return to the image of billowing clouds. Well, I can't do it any more…:) Alenka (Breza blog) has two more cloud photos. At least one can be 'deciphered' by using the 'grinning faces' key.:)
Borut is right, it's hard to reverse to the photo as merely a cloud. My first thought was the stoneman from the film & book 'Never ending story'. Well it's a good haiku anyway Polona.
pat - thank you. i'm not sure what your question aims at, but - no, i took it from the balcony :)
vaughn - thanks :)
borut - you're the storyteller, you should know! thanks foryour comments and some food for thought... :)
tim - thank you, hope you get to go soon! (i prefer summer holidays, though... but don't think i'll be going anywhere yet; well, maybe for a couple of days)
ashi - what borut pointed out is really interesting, and that our minds work like that... thank you for your comment (great comparison)!

jon - thank you, and you're welcome!
that photo is breathtaking! I find myself spending more and more time looking at the sky -- don't know why.
andrew - thank you very much!
the sky has a special appeal, it's always there, but never quite the same...
