roger, thanks for dropping by. as to your question about my opinion regarding 5-7-5 haiku, well, i think that's kind of... obsolete. one cannot really compare syllables to onji, the japanese sound beats. i prefer substance over form, and if something can be expressed in, say, 11 rather than 17 syllables, so be it. of course, everyone is free to use whatever form suits them best.

I have to say that I don't hold with this haiku style. I think a haiku should have seventeen syllables - in three lines - 5, 7 and 5.
What do you think?
