i wasn't sure this one would work but seeing a gull in ljubljana seemed worth noting. even though ljubljana is only about 100 km (just over 60m) away from the sea, gulls are rare visitors. they usually appear when there's a depression in the mediterranian with an inflow of warm humid air from the southwest, which causes unstable weather conditions with frequent thunderstorms. one of those, as keenly observed by nick, was brewing last night as i took that photo from my balcony.
