colourless sky
even the birds
reticent

brezbarvno nebo
še ptice so
umolknile

The sky here today was grey. That sky you get when rain and snow blow in together.

And as I drive through the morning rush there she is a heron making her way back against the sleet to her mate.

people say
it has come
all the way
from Siberia
this wind

Little Onion

(Polona - the birds are the first thing i look to each day - maybe tomorrow your birds will be feel more forthright - like that determined heron)

Thanks all... you're too kind.

Little onion - your words sound almost as if you'd known me for years (I know it's impossible). Thank you for the heron, the poem and your soothing words.
It's actually not so bad... the sky is still grey, though, and it's snowing in some parts of the country but not in Ljubljana. The sparrows downtown were almost as loud as they get, yet the trees around my home were silent apart from the crow's cawing – he sounded determined all right.
The bird flu is taking its toll... mostly swans... and herons. And that makes me sad.

Alenka - better times will come... soon I hope... for everyone.

Have a good time... all of you.
