the first raindrops sprinkle

flowers on the grave

slippery road

a flash of white bird's wings

against the stormy sky

a damselfly alights
on a stranded paper boat
summer's end

the sky spoke

dark clouds gathered
on the northern horizon
herded by the wind
came rushing through
the august afternoon
crying cleansing raindrops
over languished flowers
setting the stage
for the daylight’s farewell.
a single star twinkled
before its time.

the sky spoke to me last night

the following photo is not very nice, nor is it very artistic, but i find it fascinating. it shows four slugs gathered around what looks like the remains of another slug as if in mourning. and i've seen similar scenes before. now someone please tell me gastropods have no feelings...
